Any hope of good Dim Sum on the Westside?

So tired of driving to the San Gabriel Valley for good dim sum. Is there anything on the westside?

According to my culinary ventures and following this board, it appears that the only dim sum remaining on the westside is at VIP Seafood, on the upper level of the minimall on the N/W corner of Wilshire and Barrington. While many 'hounds will howl that any Chinese food west of the SGV is swill and Americanized pablum, I've found the dim sum at VIP to be a pleasant experience. And if you arrive close to noon on a Sunday morn, expect a wait.

If you are not in the mood to drive to SGV, VIP is your only option on the westside for dim sum. They are not too bad at all!

Unfortunately nothing on the west side compares. There are places in Chinatown. I know this subject has been covered many times, a search might also help you on your journey.

Judging from the number of posts asking for this, it seems like a vast untapped market waiting just for that enterprising person to break away from the SGV monopoly.

Except that Ocean Star started a sister restaurant in Santa Monica that served quality dim sum and it went out of business. Also about 10 years ago it was rumored that Harbor Village was opening a location on Pico, but that never came to pass.
