"East Side Poultry"

SLO Feb 25, 2008 12:57 PM

Just moved to the 'hood and happened on East Side Poultry (1st between 79th and 80th)as the Chickens were coming out of the oven.
Got it home and it was delicious. Didn't buy anything else.
Any opinions on this place?

Spit roasted, crispy and $5.19/lb. They have Turkey, Turkey breast, Capon, LI Duckling and Cornish Hens.
Apparently their fried chicken is also really good ...

I got all excited to try this place after reading these comments... but then discovered this unsavory (and all too recent) detail:

I'd love to make ESP my go-to chicken place on the UES but need some re-assurance!

You don't want to know what goes on behind the scenes at some of your favorite places! If they're still open the violations were most likely rectified.

Great skinless fried chicken...that's about it.
Everything else, including some of the side dishes, are too greasy for me.
          And a bit pricey.

          I prefer...love...the roasted chickens at Agata & Valentina - 79th & First Ave.
          Stuffed with garlic + rosemary.
