I second the Black Forest Brewhaus. It's large, close to the cemetaries and the food is good. Definitely call ahead so they can set up for your group.

thanks everyone...i called pinelawn and the golf course next door, Colonial Springs, has a restaurant that will do lunch for you. i am not sure how good the food is but in this case, i suppose its not the most important factor.

Tery G's was good. They are listed on restaurant.com and rewards network meaning their prices are brought down. Stay away from the Spartan Diner, certainly for desserts,if no other reason. Their corn muffins tasted like sawdust and the chocolate horns had a prayers worth of chocolate. If you can try it yourself, do before you commit others.

Never thought to look, but the Black Forest is on restaurat.com, too.

thanks for the suggestions. i was a little hesitant about 56th fighter group becuase it seems a little themey for a post funeral gathering.

I agree with the poster who said skip 56th Fighter Group. I went a couple of months ago with a business associate as we had a meeting to attend nearby...it's vile.

Try the Black Forest Brew Haus:

They're very accommodating to groups (good idea to call in advance). It's not just a bar, it's a restaurant with a full (and quite good) menu.

Pass on the 56th Fighter Group; it was always something of a gimmick, and it's gone way downhill.

Edit: The BlacForest is within *very* easy reach of Pinelawn. Just go up to Smith street (which ends at Wellwood) and follow it about 1/2 mile to New Highway. Literally a minute or so from the cemetery.

I might be misremembering, but I don't think that's the full menu online; I'd swear there was still more. I could be wrong.

Give these places a call and see what they offer. The regular menus are on the websites.
My friends just used 56th restaurant for same purpose this past Friday and I heard it was good. Don't know if they ordered from the menu or arranged a package.
