      1. Gorgeous spaces: Eleven Madison Park, Town, Cafe Sabarsky
        Umatchable old NY ambiance - Keens
        Lanmarked interior, including amazing Gustavino ceiling - Wolfgang's (33rd St. location)
        Lovely lake view: The Boathouse in Central Park

        1. I agree with Spice Market, Buddakhan and Buddah Bar. All three have a cool vibe and decor. The scene is half of why people go there and the food is fairly good too. Especially Spice Market - they are probably my favorite in the Meat Packing District.

          1. I haven't been there, but does Freeman's fall into this category?

            1. Steering a slightly different course:

              Mei Lai Wah, solo on a weekday afternoon;
              Florent, at the end of a boozy Friday;
              Apizz, with a date in the winter.

                florent closed???

                1. re: intrepid

                  Florent has not closed yet. But it's not looking good because, acc. to eater, the rent is about to increase substantially, and the space is being marketed.
