What restaurants do you think have the most amazing, unusual, and memorable ambiances?

    buddakan, matsuri,spice market are way up there, kittichai is close. del posto and asiate are worth seeing as well but more formal.

        Gorgeous spaces: Eleven Madison Park, Town, Cafe Sabarsky
        Umatchable old NY ambiance - Keens
        Lanmarked interior, including amazing Gustavino ceiling - Wolfgang's (33rd St. location)
        Lovely lake view: The Boathouse in Central Park

          I agree with Spice Market, Buddakhan and Buddah Bar. All three have a cool vibe and decor. The scene is half of why people go there and the food is fairly good too. Especially Spice Market - they are probably my favorite in the Meat Packing District.

              Steering a slightly different course:

              Mei Lai Wah, solo on a weekday afternoon;
              Florent, at the end of a boozy Friday;
              Apizz, with a date in the winter.

                  Florent has not closed yet. But it's not looking good because, acc. to eater, the rent is about to increase substantially, and the space is being marketed.
