My stepmother, who recently moved to Oregon, swears by this Japanese scrubbing brush that she used to purchase in Los Angeles. It has a handle with a bristley ball on one side and a harder piece on the other side. (There is a picture on this link: http://www006.upp.so-net.ne.jp/yty/clean/index_e.html -- they are the multi-color "rice cooker brushes" in the top center row on the scrubbing/glass washing link.) The problem is that we have found only one place in the US that carries them -- a little market on Sawtelle in Los Angeles -- which has had some difficulty in getting them shipped with any regularity. And when the market does get them in stock, they get cleaned out almost immediately.

Has anyone else seen these scrubbing brushes anywhere? We would love to find a good mail order supplier. The link is for Japanese orders only.

If anyone has seen them in other stores in Los Angeles or Oregon (preferably in the Medford/Ashland area), I would be grateful.

I was also looking for this brand of scrub brush. That is how I found your post on this web site. I have the Hana Shoes washing brush, which I use for cleaning my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I originally bought my first one at World Market, Cost Plus in Houston. You may want to check your area for a World Market.

Thank you, thank you. I found the brush I'm looking for. It is my very favorite and I used to be able to buy it in L.A. at Surfas or World Market, but not for quite a while. I used your link and got to the Yatsuya site. I think your brush is under "Novelty" - at least there is a rice cooker brush there. My brush was also under "Novelty" - I use it at the kitchen sink but it's listed as "Shoe Cleaner Brush".
