Czech food in the South Bay area

From time to time, there have been questions asking where to find Czech food in the L.A. area. I recently became aware of a restaurant/bar/club in the South Bay area that serves Czech food:

Zina's Restaurant and Bar
4525 Calle Mayor
Torrance, CA 90505

Czech friends have described this as being more of a bar with music and dancing that serves food, rather than a regular restaurant. The food is described as being very good, service rather slow though since dishes are made to order, a true mom and pop operation. Lunch is generally from 11:30 to 2:30 (excluding Sundays and Mondays), dinner from 5:30 to 10:00 daily. Their restaurant is listed in the Friday entertainment section of the Daily Breeze showing a web site that I could not access: Prices are listed as $10-20.

  1. I found the website for Zina's, see inside the Place link.
The menu doesn't look particularly Czech, more Austrian or like something one of the German diaspora in Hungary would cook. Another question for my German and Czech g-grandmothers :-(. Another clue:
