Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in DC/Baltimore and Suburban Virginia

The parents are coming!

Any recommendations for dinner with the parents on Sunday early evening? Their tastes are simple, think 2 Amys with a broader menu. Looking for good quality, simple food that's well prepared, and inexpensive or moderately priced places over serious fine dining.

Yes, forgot to mention: I'm in NW DC but I don't mind a drive if there's someplace worth the trip.

So many great places to go in Bethesda/Chevy Chase! Lucky you are so close. The first one that came to mind when I read your original post was the Mongolian Grill. Fun, casual atmosphere, good food and not expensive. The set up of having to choose your items helps the conversation get started. Good Luck!

          1. Anna Maria's in dupont has wonderful red sauce italian, good prices, and a nice but not fussy atmosphere.

            1. A few places to consider: Sette Osteria, Firefly, Hank's Oyster Bar, Tabard Inn, Mark and Orlandos, and Hudson--all in Dupont Circle.
