need help now (Las Vegas)
We are currently in Las Vegas and I would love comments on the vietnamese pho restaurants on Spring Mountain Road. (oh, we are going out to dinner within the hour...no pressure here!) I just checked with the concierge and she did not have feedback on any of them but gave me a menu for Kung Fu and she also recommended Lotus of Siam. I am almost voiceless from a cold and want nothing more than a big bowl of incredibly delicious spicy satisfying noodle soup.... where would a chowhound go?

I ate lunch recently at Pho Saigon 8 (I think that was the name of it.....there was Saigon and an 8 in the name) on Spring Mountain just east of Jones. The pho was very tasty and a generous serving.
Sorry, realize that this is too late, but there's always tomorrow. Also, for a different sort of noodle soup, check out Togoshi's on Twain just west of Maryland Parkway. Its more of a lunch place, and some hounds have commented that they wouldn't want to be in that neighborhood at night...

re: gato
Capitol seafood is good. I also recommend Pho Saigon 8. It is on the way home from work for me, so I have probably eaten there close to 100 times over the past few years. I have never been disappointed. We get the normal Pho #12, the lemongrass beef, the beef stew, and the combination fried rice. It is consistently great.

quick update: went to Togoshi's for lunch today and it was closed...the door was open so we peeked inside...owner came and mumbled something about a health inspection....oh dear, hope it turned out ok.
Ate at the taco place in the same strip mall instead...Not bad. Not bad at all.
