downtown Knoxville, Sunday night

any suggestions for dinner on a sunday night in Knoxville. We are staying at the Hilton downtown and going to a show. Wide open for suggestions, just want great food!

  1. Some downtown places will not be open on Sunday night. However, you can try City Brew on S. Gay which is in walking distance of the Hilton. Also Calhoun's on the River which is walkable if you are a big city person -but if not you would want to drive. Calhoun's is on Neyland and has a nice view and barbecue and other southern style choices. Nama, also on Gay Street, would be a good choice if it is open on Sunday evenings. Down on Cumberland just about .75 miles from the Hilton is the SunSpot which is a local sort of place-many vegetarian options and other good choices. By the way none of these are formal, dress up type places=just casual. One of my favorites is Chesepeake, again withing walking distance of the Hilton. Your hotel should be able to give you good directions to any of these.

    1. Green Hills grille in the Fresh Market shopping center near Sequoia hills. Good food nice atmosphere reasonable prices.

      1. Some friends and I will be in Knoxville Sunday night as well (maybe the same concert) staying downtown, and someone recommended The Tomato Head to us. Their website looks good except no hard liquor. So before we go there for dinner, I'm looking for a good bar with a non-smoking or outdoor area and especially good cocktails. Any recommendations will be welcome!
