Balut in NYC?

This is my first chowhound post, I figured if I should ask this question anywhere, this is the place to find my answer. Does anyone know of any establishments in NYC that serves up balut?

Thanks!

    1. Here's what Menupages yielded under Filipino establishments in the city. You can search there first. (There used to be a Filipino store on E14th Street that sold balut, both chicken and duck, salted and unsalted, but I'm not sure if they're still in existence.).
      Hopefully someone can chime in with the answer.

      Look ---> http://www.menupages.com/restaurants.asp?home=Y&cuisineid=82

      And another thread I just stumbled upon that might be worth a look ...

        1. Elvie's Turo-Turo has balut, although the duck isn't especially big. I think it's more properly penoy. The Fil-Am Mart in Woodside, however, has fantastically matured balut, though be forewarned that they are sold raw.

            1. I know they always serve it at the Philippine Independence Parade which takes place around Madison Square Park in the spring.

                1. Elvie's told me that they don't sell balut anymore. The shop on 14 St has closed.

                  Is balut sold anyplace in NYC or Jersey City? Fil-Am in Woodside was vague ("Maybe next week") about carrying it.

                      Elvie's and the Fil-Am Market have the same distributor, I believe. They're simply waiting on the next order to arrive.

                      • Chang Li has various balut all the time. Bronx, NY.
