Brooks & Porter Steakhouse in Merrick- opening

Has anyone heard anything about this place yet? I heard that they had a free tasting and cocktail party last night but they're not listed anywhere.
Drove past it ~6 today. Had a couple of valet parkers out, so it's obviously open. Nothing in Newsday or any of the local flyers/papers. I guess they're not ready for mere mortals yet.
I just went there this past Saturday night for drinks and to sample their raw bar. Too bad I already had dinner plans because the menu looked good and the place had great ambiance. By the time I left around 7:30pm, the place was packed at the bar and in the dining room. I had a few glasses of wine and some east and west coast oysters and clams on a half shell. Everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The wines by the glass had an OK selection and the bar has baskets of homemade, albeit over done, potato chips. Dave, our bartender, was especially helpful and extremely friendly. The steak prices are the same as if I went to a well-known/loved steakhouse in NYC, but after exploring the menu and watching plate after plate walk by of mouth-watering juicy steaks, I've decided that I will definately sit down for dinner at some point. Maybe it was be on par with my absolute favorite - Striphouse. In case anyone's interested, our bill for 2 glasses of wine, 2 beers, a doz oysters, 1/2 dozen clams was $79. Wines by the glass were about $8 - $14, steaks were $38+, sides $6-$10, non-steak dishes $21+ (The seafood pasta sounds delicious.) They are planning to start a Sunday Brunch and Lunch eventually, which I'm very much looking foward to. Hope they get the ball rolling.
