Water filter recs.
Does anyone have any water filter suggestions? One that would attach to the sink. I have read some of Debra Dadd's blog about water filters and have been left totally confused and scared (I guess a lot of water filters have plastic which is what I am trying to avoid)! I would like to avoid creating a "hungry water," which I believe is reverse osmosis. Please let me know what you all recommend.

Do you need it to attach to the faucet like a Pur or Brita filter or in line under sink type? I have an Ever Pure under sink filtration system. Like it a lot. Water taste great.

What exactly is it you're wanting to filter out of the water?
Most filters meant for removing small particulates will have a polypropylene (plastic) filter cartridge. Paper filters can be used but are nowhere near as good as the poly ones. Activated carbon will filter out the smallest particulates, but not viruses or bacteria. Reverse osmosis will give you the purest water, removing even dissolved minerals depending on the membrane used.
Not sure what you mean by 'hungry' water, never heard that term used before.

This is the newer version of the model my wife and I have used for the last couple of years. We love it.

Consumer Reports listed Culligan high on the recommended list for under sink models.

You may want to take a look at this link which compares a bunch of water filters.

been using this for that last 15 years. Solid carbon, stainless steel casing. Can't do without for tea and coffee drinking.
