Palm Springs eats
- Lauren S.
I'm going to Palm Springs for a few nights. Any dinner suggestions? all price ranges, all cuisines (i like chinese, japanese, french, italian... anything!!!) Thanks!
There's a place called 'Me...an Appetizing Experience." It's all appetizers -- or tapas, if you like. Just outside the main downtown area on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, it's a fun, festive environment with great little dishes and great staff.
The Spaghetteria on Palm Canyon at Racquet Club is excellent Italian particularly pizza, thin crust to die for - run by a family, mom, pop and their daughers. Really good food, not expensive.
Don and Sweet Sues in Cathedral City, Ramon Road at Date Palm, great place for breakfast or lunch, very chatty waitresses, they start serving breakfast really early.
Lyons Grille, also on Palm Canyon has the best roast duck and a great pot roast, the duck is worth the trip, crispy and served with fresh green beans almondine and parsley potatoes - gosh haven't eaten this since November and I still remember it.
Also Korean and Puerta Vallarta Mexican in a strip mall at Ramon Road at Landau.
St. James on the Vineyard for excellent Pac Rim / Fusion / ... - try the Lobster in Green Thai Coconut sauce - good wine list / cellar. Ask for seating in back room - more atmospheric.
For all-out romantic splurge, Le Valluris on Tahquitz Canyon - French Continental with a huge wine list / sommelier. I love the white fish in dijon sauce there.
