Al's fish & chips in RWC - big disappointment

Just got back from Al's Fish & Chips in Redwood City. We had been meaning to go for sometime and tonight was the night. All I can say is that, sadly, it was a waste of calories. If fish & chips can be both soggy and dry at the same time, well, this was it. And the signature fish taco's were lifeless and uninteresting. If anyone wants fish tacos in RWC, they'd be better off heading over to Sancho's. As for the fish & chips - I'm going to drive a little further and go to Cook's in Menlo Park. Any other opinions out there?

I went to Al's based solely (haha) on the Chowhound recommendation for the basic fish taco. The kind we make at home. Al's delivers: some type of (non-deep-fried) white fish, fresh corn tortilla, guacamole, shredded cabbage, salsa, secret sauce.

At home, we go with a larger flour tortillas and roll them like baby burritos.

Its a bit off my usual flight plan, but I would return for the fish taco
