A few days in Philadelphia

We are going Thur to Sat., staying near Reading Terminal/Convention Center. Looking for recommendations in Chinatown (doesn't have to be Chinese), Old City or anywhere within a reasonable distance to center city. Nothing too stuffy or over the top expensive. We like all kinds of ethnic foods, but not looking for Italian since that is mainly what cook and eat at home. Thanks.

Nan Zhou on Race St. between 9th and 10th has great hand drawn noodle soup. Very cheap too and delicious on a cold day! It's very small and as informal as you can get. To be honest with you, there's not much in Chinatown that is not Chinese/Malaysian/Vietnamese, etc.

RTM is also very inexpensive and has great roast pork at DiNic's and pancakes at the Dutch Eating Place. There are a lot of threads on what's good there on Chowhound.

Also a few blocks to the south, the Naked Chocolate Cafe has great Aztec hot chocolate.

There are many BYO's near Rittenhouse (such as Matyson and Lolita) not far from you and lots of them in Old City.
