AYCE Sushi @ downtown

i'm planning to have a gathering with my colleague and i was deciding on going to an all-you-can-eat sushi at downtown.

Which is the best/tasty place and reasonable price for you?

thanks! =)

Well, if you're going AYCE, it's hard to high quality product. That being said, I think Sushi Island on College is one of the better bets. Or Sushi Kuni-Ya on Baldwin.

      Sushi Island
571 College St, Toronto, ON M6G1B2, CA

      Sushi Ya
20 Baldwin St, Toronto, ON M5T1L2, CA

I would second Sushi Ya and Island, they're the better ones.

Others I would NOT go to for sushi, either because of low quality or limited selection:
Natural Sushi, Asahi, Gallery Sushi, Mariko, Sushi D, Masa

        See this thread for details:

while i don't recommend ever really eating at an ayce joint, if you go to sushi island your best bet there is the beef tataki but stay away from the scallop as it's just a mess of chopped up old scallop with gobs and gobs of mayo. at sushi kuni-ya i find the butterfish is always frozen through the middle.

      2. I'll tell you one NOT to go to; I had lunch at Masa (just off Yonge, two blocks s. of Bloor) on Friday. The hot dishes were actually OK; chicken teriyaki, deep fried squid, dumplings, but the sushi was awful. No sashimi is offered. The California roll is mostly cucumber, the tuna is just a sliver. In fairness, the salmon was OK. It's not too expensive - $11.99 for lunch, but I wouldn't go back.

        1. It's been said many times that Echo Sushi is the best AYCE south of Steeles. Maybe you should give them a try?

No offense, but the OP asked specifically for downtown which Echo is nowhere near. I'm definately interested in something downtown as well!
