Birthday Dinner-Daniel, Jean George or Bouley

I haven't been to any of these. I'm going for a birthday dinner(mine!). Food is what matters most. I'm sure they are all fantastic. Does anyone have strong feeling one way or the other about any of these choices?

  1. I have been to all 3, but have only returned to Daniel over and over again. They are all an amazing experience, I just love the overall experience, food, serivce at Daniel.

    1. They are all good, but I would do either Daniel or Bouley. I'm not the biggest fan of Jean George. While it is still good, I felt that some of the dishes were a bit of a reach and the flavors didn't really meld.

      1. I have only been to Daniel and Bouley - and while I loved Bouley - Daniel stole my heart - Food is tops in both - but Daniel brings you over the rainbow in over all experience ....

Does Daniel have a tasting menu?

            Yes.

I second Daniel, hands down. I've been to all three, and the food is not only better, so is the service and the ambiance. It's beautiful, sit in the center of the main dining room if you can, to get the whole experience. And, yes, they have a tasting menu. Last time I went I did the wine pairings as well, and let me tell you... if you can afford it... do it! It'll highten the whole experience, needless to say the food. I believe the tasting menu is 6 courses @ $165 per + $80 w/wine pairings.

          2. I must say I'm surprised. Not that Daniel is that good, just that it's unanimous so far.
