Where to buy chili beef in NOVA

Hi there - we are looking to buy thick grind beef to make chili with - we found some at Shoppers Food Warehouse last year around super bowl time, but we were out of town this year at super bowl time. Still wanting to make chili - but can't find the really coarsely ground / thick ground beef. Any ideas or has anyone seen what I am thinking about?

Any grocery store with in-house butchering will be able to make chili grind beef. You don't even have to patronize an upscale grocery store. My ordinary Giant grocery store in McLean has butchers who respond when customers ring the bell. Just ask the butcher for -- variously called -- single grind or chili grind.

Agreed - I know I've even seen it stocked on the shelves at my Harris Teeter in Alexandria.

Look in the case before you ring the bell at Giant in McLean. They often have 3 or 4 packages in the case.
