Rome - Lunches and Dinners!!
We are coming from NYC and staying in Rome at the Capo D'Africa hotel for 4 days in early March. The hotel is near the forum. I haven't been to Rome in years so need some help. We are looking for:
Great lunch (Jewish ghetto, pizza and maybe 1 really nice sitdown lunch)
Dinner (great traditional and modern Italian food).
During our stay we will be all over Rome so no need to limit to a specific area. Just want the best Rome has to offer. If possible, for the better meals we would love to try and stay under 75 Euros per person.
Well, don't be tempted to eat any place very near your hotel except the pizzeria on via SS. Quattro, Li Rioni, or the expensive Crab, which is Sardinian and does only crustaceans and friends. Otherwise, trattorias within walking distance are La Piazzetta and Nerone.
In the Ghetto, Piperno (expensive). But Paris in Trastevere is also good for the Jewish stuff. For classic Roman, Checchino. Modern could be Antico Arco. I am getting heavy déjà vu as I write, so why don't you look at the recent postings about places to eat in Rome, then ask again if you see something that sounds interesting, or if you don't.
