Sunday brunch in midtown

what would be the best sunday brunch place not too far from east 39th street. I am thinking about Norma's , seems pricy but may be worth it?

Does one need to book ahead for sunday brunch? Is "open table .com" a good place to do restaurant bookings in NYC?

  1. Brasserie 8 1/2 might be a little far for you - it's at 9 W. 57th - but they have a huge and varied brunch buffet. The food won't blow you away, but it's decent if you stick to the simple things, and a lot cheaper than Norma's. It would be wise to make a reservation, and opentable.com is the way to go.

    1. i think Norma's is over priced and it is about 20 blocks north from you so I am not sure it is your best bet anyway.

      1. You might try Cibo at 2nd Ave & 40th Street. We've always liked it. It's service rather than a buffet like Brasserie 8 1/2.
