Crab Crawl, March 1, Jack London Square

This is the second annual -- there were positive reports last year, even though they misjudged the turnout and ran out of food early. Looks like a good opportunity to talk to the crab fisherman without having to trek down to Half Moon Bay.

This year's annual CRAB CRAWL event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This festival is dedicated to those who love crab and seafood. Interact with crab cooking demonstrations, crab races and learn about the commercial fishing industry. Live band performances include: Captain Mike and the Sea Kings, Girl Talk, and Pulsators.

I couldn't get a sense of what the food costs might be from the website. Anyone know?

I don't find any reports here on on last year's. Google finds a blogger who said they ran out of food very early.

Live crab direct from HMB is great, but the food-festival side of things looks fairly grim. Cocina Poblana's stuff might be good, Kincaid's, Scott's, and El Pescatore aren't at all chowish.

Anyone know who Lutha, Marion, Anthony, and Brand Little are?

If admission is free, what the heck.

And for football fans, that's also the same day as the annual crab fest at Union Square where you watch 49ers crack crab.

I'm not sure, but looking at the info you've linked, it appears that the event is March 1, not March 3. I just want to make sure to get it right, since this looks like a good event.
