Paris - Others Near Ze Kitchen

Hello. When last in Paris, we enjoyed dinner at Ze Kitchen and also loved the area at night. What are some other recommendations in the same area. Is L'Alcazar a good choice?

  1. ZKG is great. The only other place I have been nearby is Les Bouquinistes. It has unfortunately become terribly overpriced. There is another post with what appear to be some very good suggestions in that neighborhood:

    1. Alcazar is a fun bistro with a very hip atmosphere that reminds me more of New York than Paris. The owner is some big shot restauranter out of London, I believe. The food wasn't exceptional three star fare, of course, but everything was cooked very well and tasted good. I think I had a salmon starter that had the soy sauce, wasabi, green onion (I think?) and was clearly classic Japanese fare, and I really enjoyed it. I had some fish for my main that was cooked well with some braised fennel. Overall, solid. I don't think I'd go back for the food, but the bar upstairs looked like a lot of fun when I walked through it.

Thanks for the replies. Do you know though if Alcazar is in the same neighborhood roughly as Ze Kitchen?

I just googled L'Alcazar, and yes, it is very close. They have a website, which includes menus. Looks similar to ZKG in price.

      2. We ate at ZKG last Wednesday. We seemed to pass so many interesting and charming looking restaurants as we walked to dinner. Le Comptoir at the Hotel Relais St. Germain is very close and has always gotten high praise here. One day I'll get there, too! Polidor is in that neighborhood as is La Mediterranee (short walk). Arbuci is a large seafood place nearby at 25 Rue de Buci, but I haven't been there in years and don't know its current reputation.
