Chowhound breaks my Firefox!

I've been having this problem for a good 3 months now but just put up with it until now. I'm currently using Firefox on Mac Leopard (was Tiger until 3 days ago). 1 out of 5 times that I visit Chowhound the formatting of the site goes haywire - things are just all over the place. After I visit the site and that happens, either Firefox freezes up or I don't have formatting on any other website that I visit after. Also, I can't quit Firefox after that (it just doesn't respond), I must do a force quit.

Any idea what's happening? I only blame Chowhound because it's always the first page to lose formatting and then everything goes downhill from there.

  1. Click to Upload a photo (10 MB limit)
  1. Hrmm. Crashing browsers is more often an issue with Safari than Firefox, so this is unusual.

My best guess would be memory issues since the behaviour you describe is what my Firefox does sometimes when it starts to get low on memory, but that's just a guess.

You might try clearing your cache and refreshing the page as soon as you notice the formatting going haywire. That's kind of annoying with the frequency you're experiencing, but it usually help.

Unfortunately, I don't have much more than that to offer you.
