Dinner last night did not start out well but the food was very good to excellent. The problem was the parking; when they first opened I went in and was told by the front desk that they had valet parking; well apparantly it was a temporary permit because last night (stormy weather) there was not. They apparantly have a permit but the city has not put up the necessary signage yet for them to implement the actual valet service. To their credit they did comp me the parking lot charge; they had vouchers so is not a new problem. The bottom line is call to check on the valet status before you go.

On to the food - they start you off with very good bread and a relish type plate (have not seen this in years; the pickled herring on it was excellent). The raw bar items and crab cake were excellent. Portuguese mussels and Florida grouper were very good. Service was very attentive and friendly. The overall atmosphere was like eating at one of the expensive steak house chains; very nice but not someplace you want to go rushing back to.

As noted in other posts the prices are on the high side but there is value.

Yeah, they definitely need to get that valet worked out. On weeknights, there is usually a metered spot to be snagged on Cambridge St in front of city hall or the arch building. Otherwise, there is a garage around the corner on Washington Street that has a flat rate at night (maybe $12). I am always temped to duck into a spot on Court Sq., however as those spots are all official parking I am not sure how long the car would last...
