Shin Shin Chinese Restaurant 1432 W 8th St San Pedro, CA 90732

I live in SP and this is the only Chinese restaurant I will go to. Shin Shin is a cozy, small restaurant in Weymouth Corners. I like the booths. Parking is convenient and free. The luncheon specials run until 3pm (if I remember correctly). Very affordable prices.
Top Wok is good for a fast food environment of tables and chairs.
Check out the little bakery up the street while you're there.

That's good to know about Shin Shin. I live about 4 blocks away and always forget about trying that place. And I agree, Polly Ann is a neat old-school bakery

Shin Shin is extremely mediocre Chinese food. We used to eat there a few years ago, it was Americanized Chinese food, but it was OK. It changed hands, and the food went way down hill.

          Shin shin, downhill. hmmmmmmmm
I guess we are at impasse here. Any other input?
sad to think I should crank out the oyster sauce and just get woking if I dont want to drive to Lomita, where the pay off is sumptuous.
The thing I remember about Shin Shin is the rabbi at the temple used to get chicken lo mein and he seemed to like it, but that is at least 12 years ago.

The only place I've been to nearby is Top Wok on Western Ave. It is your standard Americanized take-out Chinese but decent enough

There's a good reason why everybody from PV goes to Lomita for Chinese food--there's nothing there or in San Pedro worth eating. There was once a decent place near Ports of Call, but I don't think it's there any more.

chandavki--I know all about Lomita and Royal Palace and Szechuan. I am truly talking about those post workdays when getting back in the car and driving out to Lomita is just too much.
I like the egg rolls at Nim Chan and they do some tasty food, I was trying to branch out to other places farther north on Western. or that spot at WeymouthCorners.
