From Columbus to DC, Vidalia?

I will be travelling to DC next month from Columbus Ohio and will be dining at Vidalia. I took a look at their menu online and was filled with excitement and tremendous fear. Some of the items were simply not recognizable to me and so I'm really hoping for some suggestions from people who have dined there before. That said, it may be helpful to know I am an adventurous eater (though not smart enough to be a foodie!) with a thing for seafood and raw fish. But I am not averse to red meat either. Love salad.

So, if you've been there and loved or hated something, please, please let me know!!

I'm from Columbus as well and have lived in DC for 2 years. Vidalia is in my top 7 in DC and would be my #1 or #2 if it were in Columbus. Sorry but I can't recommend any one dish, you just can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I think the desserts are my favorite in the city. Relax and have fun, you'll love it. post your experience and let us know what you think.

The mac and cheese is to die for! I loved the shrimp and grits, the rabbit sausage and the lemon chess pie.

It's a popular place; I'm sure others have great suggestions too.
