tokyoastrogirl Feb 12, 2008 03:24 PM

Thanks to my sister, my family and I got to experience the once-in-a-lifetime meal at Urasawa that I'd long dreamed about. The post is mainly photos, so please enjoy if you're interested!

Cost for five w/ lots of sake, tip and tax.....$2800.

Oh my God. Gorgeous. Great work. Sort of feel like I just experienced your meal and can tell how amazing it was. (The second thing that escaped you looks like giant clam(?), the first looks maybe sort of maybe like shrimp(??) but those are totally guesses from someone who is absolutely not an expert) Thanks again!

That meal looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos -- it's probably as close as I'll get to a meal there :-)

Just a guess, the clam above unagi (or before) looks like aoyagi.

                I second this notion.

                Here is a alternate view:

It has made an appearance on all of my visits.

I went to Urasawa a few months ago thinking it would be a once-in-a-life-time meal, but now I'm dying to go back because some of your dishes are different from ours, and they look so good!
