Valentine's Northern Lake County Style!

I'm looking for a NICE place up in northnern Lake County, that takes reservations. I looked at the board "Looking for any unturned stones in or near Gurnee". There are over 240 posts and many are about philly steak sandwiches and other fast food. Finding a nice restaurant was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Please help me.

So where did you end up going? My DH and I postponed our V-Day dinner until tonight and are headed to Binanti's Taste of Italy in Antioch.

We went to the Stage Coach Stop in Wilmot. Good steaks. But the baked potato is ridiculous. I'm not exagerating when I say they put half a pound hunk of butter on top of it!

How pathetic is it that you had to resolve to drive to Lake Geneva for a nice restaurant? Man we need better places around here! Hope you had a good Valentine's Day!

This is probably too late, but I think the other restaurant in Wilmot is Twin Oaks. Also, if you haven't been there yet, try The Tavern in Libertyville. Very romantic and great food.

Yes, the Twin Oaks. I was there a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Thanks to all for helping out.

Hmmm, no help here huh? What did you decide?

Why not drive up to Lake Geneva? There are quite a few "NICE" restaurants up there and it's not terribly far away from the Gurnee area. Just a thought.

That's a great idea! Actually, now that I think about it there are a couple of places just over the border, I think one is called the stage coach stop? I think it is in Wilmot? There is another restaurant there but it's been so long that I can't remember the name. Any help?

In case you can't tell, I still have no set plans.
