The citradish detergent was put right next to the Seventh Generation dishwashing detergent, looking clear and natural and all. But, it's not. This particular one is lavender bergamot scented. It smelled like cheap men's cologne, and it lingered. Yuck. I feel cheated. The label paints a wonderful picture, but the product is still using the cheap fragrance that I tried to avoid from the new wave of scents like "summer breeze", for example, that brands like JOY used, or many of the cheap drug store lotions. I guess there's an inventory of that perfume floating somewhere that is being used. I just wish brands like Citra would be a little more conscientious.

The 7th Generation dishwashing detergent also has the scented version, but it rinses off quite readily, and most of all, it doesn't stay on the hand, which for a high mountain tea drinker is very important that they stay neutral.

Anyhow, just wanted to put out a warning for the handful of tea drinkers on Chowhound. Don't use it if perfume bothers you.

Thanks for the warning! I agree, I would think that a product pitched as "clear and natural" wouldn't be stinky. I hate hate hate perfumed cleaning products.

For true freedom from scents, try the unscented Seventh Generation dish soap. It is truly unscented - the best I've found. Now my tea just smells like tea.

Anne, I just went to their website, and I don't see that particular scent listed. I wonder if it's THAT new? Or if it's something else.

Yes, I will stick with Seventh Generation. I just have to go back out in the snow storm to get it....which must not be a big deal where you are..:)

The unscented Seventh Generation soap isn't new. But it's technically called "Free and Clear", not "unscented." (Sorry about that!) Here's what I buy:

Good luck with the snow storm. For us in MN, snow isn't a big deal, but the COLD slows us down. I've gotten SO tired of putting on my triple-layer mittens (keep dropping my car keys) and my Fargo-style fur hat with flaps (ya can't hear anything with a hat on, doncha know!).

Oh sorry, I realized I was unclear with my last reply. I meant I went to the Citra-solve website and didn't see my new purchase on their product page, and so was wondering if it was a new item or not.

I'm sold on Seventh Generation (both scented and unscented) because even their scented isn't obnoxiously lingering and cheap smelling.

I'm counting my blessing here in NYC that I haven't had need to wear the triple layer mittens or Fargo-style fur hat! Stay warm!
