Chinatown East eats?

I found a new route home via Gerrard streetcar- I stood at the corner of Broadview and Gerrard today and wondered what places I should check out.

Outside of Batifole (been there), are there any recommendations in this neighborhood? I see a couple of seafood restaurants, bbq ducks in windows and several bakeries... where do I start?

    Rose's for Bahn Mi sandwiches.

Where exactly is Rose's? I hear about it all the time, but I've never actually seen it. What stores is it near?

Roses: 324 Broadview. That's on the west side or Broadbiew, south of Gerrard. It's in a new-ish building.

thanks - all sound like good suggestions - will have to start knocking each one off - one at a time

Simon's Wok is closer to Logan, but it's worth a trip. Vegetarian Chinese food, mock meat that seems like the real thing(ish). Plus the food isn't at all greasy.

MiMi's just past Bolton on Gerrard--great Vietnamese.

Hanoi 3 Seasons, order the fish special. Sing Sing BBQ House for takeaway. I think that's what it's called, it's a hole in the wall. For Dim Sum, Pearl Court is pretty good.

Ka Ka Lucky for inexpensive, casual eat in or a quick take out from the hot tables on your way home.

Dim sum in Pearl Court is super cheap between 2-4 pm on weekends. Some items are only a dollar.

Second vote for Pearl Court. Our favourite dim sum in the city.
