African food in San Diego??

I'm hoping to find a Rwandan restuarant or Democratic Republic of Congo restaurant...
I wanted to prepare for trip there this summer.
I know of an Ethiopian place on El Cajon Blvd.
But are there any other good African eateries around here?
Thanks.

It looks like an African place is going to be opening up on 30th by Meade(?). The sign says Visions Cafe and they have been working on it every time I drive by.

There are only Somali and Ethiopian restaurants in SD. In LA and SF there are West African places but I have had no luck finding anything from Central Africa in this state.

Either the Ocean Beach or the Hillcrest Farmers market has African food...can't remember which. I think OB...

Hillcrest has an Ethiopian stand. Great sambussas (sp?), but I haven't tried their other dishes.

A new East African place is set to open "soon" where Vinbladh's Swedish Fusion Cafe
was in University Heights (4651 Park Blvd.). So far no sign of decor changes or even a solid clean up from the efforts of Vinbladh's, but my guess it that they're awaiting permits, loans, etc.

There's a nice paragraph on the door outlining the new eatery.

There are some guys cooking African food at the Encinitas Farmer's Market on Sundays.

At least there were this summer. I have not been in a couple of months.
