Unreasonable, unrelenting pregnancy craving for tamales - in Orange (Tustin Ave.)?

I seem to remember a post about a few good taquerias or stores on Tustin Ave. in Orange that had excellent tamales. Can anyone illuminate?

I'm desperate enough that frozen tamales from Vons have sufficed so far. I can't make it down to S.A. with my belly and my 2 kiddos and Orange would be the perfect distance.

Please help! Chowhound has never failed my pregnancy cravings!!

  1. If you can send someone, the tamale vendor at the UCI farmers' market has EXCELLENT tamales.

So does Corona del Mar's, so I'm wondering if most Farmer's Markets do - is there one close to you?

    2. Yikes, I wish I could help you with the close-in thing, but I can only offer a coule of alternatives.

      1. For tamales, I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I've got some friends who sear by the "Chcago-style" ones at Chicago's Best in the food court on Main in Irvine (even LA Weekly wrote about them).

      2. If I'm on Tustin Ave in Orange, there's onlyone place I'm going to and that's Tulsa Rib Company. Watch out for an order of Tulsa potatoes dipped in their BBQ sauce...that may become your next addiction!
