Also try Taj Mahal on Metairie Road. The lunch buffet is a steal at around $10. They change the items constantly so you are always suprised by a new tasty morsel. It is owned by the same family as Nirvana, but the chef must be a little better. I always enjoy a trip to Taj Mahal but I rarely order off the a la carte menu. Having said that I would be surprised if they didn't have it. It is sort of a staple.

re: MsAnnaNOLA
Years ago, I used to regularly get Shahi Murgh at Taj Mahal and Shalimar (now shuttered, a sister restaurant of Taj & Nirvana) during dinner hours.
The new chefs at Taj Mahal are a welcome relief after so long.
I'll concur with you on the lunch offerings.Mmmm, now I might have to go there tomorrow!
If you do try the Shahi Murgh at Taj, would you let us know? Or any Shahi entree. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with "shahi." Acutally shahi korma is not a term I recall from any Indian dining experience. Without knowing what that is, I can't say. Anyway, Nirvana on magazine has korma, and I'm pretty sure you can get it with lamb. Good luck, and post back defining the "shahi" part.

I think its essentially the same thing, I was just trying to add a little more information. I know about Nirvana, and its ok, I wanted to branch out a little from it.

re: Rae82
have you tried tandoori downtown on the corner of canal and university? i don't know if they have shahi korma, but they have a huge menu, so there's probably a good possibility.
Edit: I found a menu online. Looks like they do have it.

Click "View Menus" and look at the second page of the menu.
