Any ideas for V-day dinner in either Stratford or Kitchener Waterloo?

setjester Feb 11, 2008 12:39 PM

I know finding great food is a bit of a challenge in the 519 area code but thats where I'll be so.. Also Im looking for some value. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! any happy valentines...whatever that entails..

I haven't been, but I hear Verses in Kitchener is suppose to be really good. I'm actually leaving the 519 to head to Niagara for Valentines.

I've said my piece in the general K/W Chowhound thread, but I would like a second opinion too.

Ive been to Bently's its cold, as in they dont turn the heat on. and the sevice by the waitstaff is terrible. The bartenders are decent and the wings are pretty good. but i would avoid it for any other option.

Keystone Alley in Stratford used to be quite charming (I only say "used to" because I haven't been in a long time). www.keystonealley.com

Bentley's is more pub-y, but still charming. www.bentleys-annex.com

The Waterlot is quite traditional V-day material (in the nearby countryside). www.waterlot.com

If it's open in winter, Bijou in Stratford, is really nice.

thanks for all your ideas, Ive decided to go to the Healthy Butcher in Toronto and get some great steaks and make a meal instead, boring k/w restaurants can wait for another day..
