Padre Figlio - Anyone been yet?

I know the original post was almost a year old, but I am trying Padre Figlio tonight....was wondering if anyone has been or had thoughts?????

I was planning on going to Padre Figlio this weekend with a group. Does anyone have any feedback about the restaurant, likes/dislikes, etc? I've read positive reviews on various websites (yelp, citysearch...) but any feedback would be much appreciated.

I tried it a while back. While it is a huge gorgeous restaurant, it was EMPTY. The food happened to be very good, a little on the pricey side...wouldn't die to go back, but I live right there so it's convenient. I would suggest trying El Pote Rincon on 38th and 2nd.

I agree. It was good, but would not run back there as it was empty when I was there too. Service was good too.

So I ended up going with a group of 12 on a saturday night and we were in a private room. It was a gorgeous restaurant and tastefully decorated. I was concerned that the restaurant would be empty but it was probably about 50-60% full and did not feel empty at all.

The food was good, not spectacular but I'd recommend the place when looking for a restaurant with good group dining options in midtown east. Most of us were vegetarian, and the restaurant was very accommodating. The service was OK, nothing amazing. The waiter tried to serve us a wine different from the one we ordered, without telling us but that might have been a honest mistake on his part.

So all in all, I'd say it was a good but not great experience.

I was just about to ask the same question when I read your post. I would also love any feedback on this place. It opened next door to my sons apartment and the menu looks very interesting. The area has plenty of steak places but the Italian dishes on the menu look very good. Hopefully it is like Pietro's back in their glory years.
