Time for one great meal in Manhattan

I'm in and out of NYC later this week and have the time and the budget for one great kosher meal. I'd be grateful to hear opinions on who the leader of the pack is at the moment.

    you might want to specify
    what is your definition of
    "budget" and "great".

    these are the best money can buy;

      Budget not a concern. Just looking for opinions about what place has the highest quality meal.

        If you like Italian meat restaurants,I love Tevere 84.nice place,great food,attentive service. It's not the typical steak place.

      I was disappointed with Tevere last time (after years of going there, not the first disappointment--poor service, tinier portions) with Tevere. Mike's Bistro is nice, good food.

        If you want steak, Prime Grill. For anything else Mike's Bistro (the tasting menu is amazing).

          I'm more partial to Solo. The food is similar in quality to Prime Grill (both top-notch), just a little more creative in my opinion.

            The one thing you need to know--and which accounts for the varying responses about the same restaurants--is that you have to ask whether Chef is "in the house" on the night you're planning to dine there. That's true if you read non-kosher reviews as well; on Chef's night off, the food definitely declines in quality and presentation, so one evening at Mikes' is fine and another is awful, or Prime Grill can be great on night and terrible on the next.

              Judging by your name, go to La Carne Grill. Start with the sampler appetizer and take the Delmonico Steak.
