Prime Beef (store bought)

I have been told there is a purveyor of "real" prime beef in Hollywood but can't find it. I am aware of the January, 2001 thread on this subject, but wondered if there is any place east of Harvey Guss that is not a chain store or an Omaha Steak outlet? Where do the myriad of prime beef restaurants get their raw material?

I have to say that Harvey Guss is worth the trip. Both on price and quality.

In all likelihood, he's the one who's probably selling it to the restaurants you enjoy it at.

Given his prices, I can't imagine anyone to compete.

I'm pretty sure Mayfair markets have prime beef. I'm definitely sure that some place in the Farmer's Market does.

Marcondas in the Farmers' Market is a solid, reliable retail butcher that has been there forever and a day. They also own Puritan Poultry (also in the Farmers' Market) which has a very good selection.
