Cave Creek, AZ recs?

We're getting together with friends for fun, lots of drinks, and dinner on the 22nd. Looking for someplace in Cave Creek. Price is not a problem, but no place too fancy as our party may be a bit loud. We want awesome food, perhaps a dessert place as well. Thanks!

  1. I would probably suggest Cocomo Joe's and or Hammerhead Jack's. Both are very casual.....depending on the day of the week have live music... and Yes you can be loud!
Hammerhead Jack's is primarily a seafood establishment owned by the same people as Blue Wasabi.

Cocomo Joe's is owned by the Mastro Group...a tropical themed Restaurant...w/ great steaks, carribean food and tropical drinks.....\

    I would recommend Binkleys...great food...small space....loud wouldn't work!

You may also want to look @ Tonto Bar and Grill or Cartwrights

then hit the Cave Creek Coffee Company for dessert!

        Ah, much better.

I'm normally right on the money with ciaogal, but I cannot recommend Hammerhead Jack's in the slightest. I've never been there and I'm only saying that based on what I've heard - and *NONE* of it's been good.

Try Cartwright's. That place has *TONS* of character and the bar is something not to be missed. The bar scene is always fun with the bartenders being attentive and accommodating. Not to mention that they do a "happy hour" there with .50 cent oysters on the half shell all day long. Make sure to ask for either Jan or Michael.

Tonto is good but I think they sort of try too hard. There are only 4 seats at the bar and it's usually full with golfers.

C4 ( Cave Creek Coffee Company ) is good for kicking back with a glass of wine ( I usually do so on Wednesday evenings ) but for substantial food, try Tonto or Cartwright's. They both do a great job.

      2. Binkleys is fantastic. I went at the end of March and loved everything about the restaurant. I went with my mother and father for my birthday and we did the 5 course tasting menu, food was impecible as well as the service. Would highly recommend a visit to Binkleys it is well worth it.

        1. Binkley's is great but sounds like you need more of a western place and
Harold's Corral in Cave Creek is such a fun bar/restaurant.
Great food and drinks and one of the most popular places in AZ..
          Love Love Love this place!

Ugh, Harolds. Very very poor service, clique-ish atmosphere, unremarkable food, IMHO.

I agree that Harolds is a poor choice. You might consider Carefree Station. The menu has something for everyone and the wine liist is surprisingly extensive. The food is fairly decent and they have a large patio which migh be good for this time of year. Cartwright is certainly a reasonable selection as well.
