Hi. I am looking for a location for brunch or lunch on the westside for 30-45 ppl. Everything seems so overpriced!!! Any suggestions.....

  1. lilly's in venice. i had my bridal shower there. they do a three course lunch which was really nice. el cholo in santa monica would be much less expensive if the food is less of a requirement.

I went to a baby shower at El Cholo. It was really quite pleasant and they gave us a huge table in a private area (off to the side and separated by columns from anyone else). They pretty much let us stay as long as we wanted and it was great from a shower perspective. We ordered off the menu--the food was good but not fantastic but quite reasonable (about $15 pp). I think there were about 25-30 of us.

    2. Try the outdoor room at Joe's on Abbot Kinney.

I was thinking Lilly's as well. Sit on the patio! Joe's works well to and the food there is very good. Boo to El Cholo!!! Also, 26 Beach could work well for a large group-

      2. Have been to Baby showers, engagements, weddings and birthdays at" Capri" on Abbot Kinney in Venice.Very nice. They are not open for lunch -----so it would be a private party.

        1. Suggest calling On Sunset at the Luxe Hotel in Brentwood. I'm hosting a baby shower there in April and think the venue is great and prices are quite fair.

          1. I had a really good experience organizing a bridal shower at James Beach, in the "Clubhouse" - there are different brunch menus for $20, $25, and $30 pp. It might not be big enough, though - the website says they can accomodate 50, but the event organizer thought 35 was optimal (I think in order to fit 50, the configuration would be such that parts of the party would be somewhat separated from each other). We went with the $20 pp menu, which was more than adequate (mini-scones, fruit salad, choice of french toast or smoked salmon/scrambled eggs/bagel, chocolate chip cookies), and they gave us a good price on mimosas. The $25 pp menu had a choice of french toast or eggs benedict or eggs florentine, and the $30 pp menu had caeser salad and grilled chicken, I think. We had also looked into Lilly's and Joe's - they both had great looking menus, but they were both over our budget (what's your per person budget?).
