any suggestions for a good italian restaurant, or continental, or california, in palm springs. looking for simple, fresh food with a decent atmosphere, patio would be great.

Spaghetteria (or ini) on N.Palm Canyon Drive at Racquet Club on the N.W. corner run by an Italian family - wonderful thin crust pizza, ask for it to be well done, I meant lets have some crisp here. They have desserts which come from a bakery in Milan which are out of sight. Patio dining too. Mom and daughters do the serving, Pop in the kitchen. Reasonable.

Just came back from there this past weekend! We went to La Quinta Cliffhouse. It's a beautiful restaurant built into the side of a cliff. You can't miss it on Hwy 111. It's California cuisine. I had an excellent seared ahi tuna steak. My husband had a New York and was enjoying every bite. It's got a patio which looks like surrounds the majority of the restaurant. Only thing to remember is that gentlemen need to wear collared shirts (but accompanied with shorts is fine).

      Address is 78-250 Highway 111, La Quinta, CA 92253, (760) 360-5991.

This restaurant is managed by TS Restaurant group, who manages many restaurants (casual and finer dining) in Hawaii and California. I've been to two others, and never disappointed by them.
