Best Thai Iced Tea in Los Angeles

adamhgraham Feb 8, 2008 04:09 PM

I'm new to Los Angeles and looking for the city's best Thai Iced Tea. Any suggestions? And is there a grocery store in Thai Town or elsewhere where you can buy it in large quantities, not just in individual cans?

Also, does anyone know the origin of thai iced tea? Is it an americanized version of what is served in Thailand.

I like the Thai Iced Tea at most of the Thai places in Thai Town and the N. Hollywood area but my favorite N. Hollywood spot, Sri Siam, makes good tea and ruins it by adding non-dairy creamer. For me it's gotta be 1/2 & 1/2 or sweetned condensed milk!!!
I have never bought it in a store, buy the bags of flavored tea leaves with the yellow and blue label and make your own, so easy!

Please help adamhgraham with his Thai iced tea search! But discussions of food origins are off topic for the local boards; please start a new thread on General Topics http://www.chowhound.com/boards/27 if you want to help him out with his second question.
