Where should we eat dinner before seeing Wicked at Pantages Theater
Coming up from San Diego in a few weeks to see Wicked at the Pantages Theater. We are staying at the Beverly Hilton. Where should we eat? We love all cuisines and don't mind spending a little $$, but I don't think we want a 4 hour super heavy meal before the show. Any suggestions near the hotel or in the near vicinity would be appreciated. Suggestions for after show drinks and snacks would be welcome as well.
The dining options near the Pantages are oft-discussed, and it would be best to review the threads.

Because you're coming from the Beverly Hilton, your dining options expand tremendously, but there is a fairly stable roster of places near the theater.
Since you're coming from San Diego, I recommend doing one of two things: sushi and Thai. Those are the two cuisines that, when I visit my folks in Oceanside, are certainly around, but not at the same level of quality as it is in Los Angeles. And fortunately, both my Thai rec (Jitlada) and sushi rec (Sushi Ike) are very close to the theater.
It would also help to know if you have an evening showtime or a matinee, as that might help steer you toward some mid-afternoon options, too.

i think hungry cat (seafood and a great burger), bowery(gastropub), magnolia(upscale comfort), and katsuya(trendy sushi) would all be within walking distance.
