rabbit in LA?
I realise this isn't a restaurant question but I figure it's more appropriate here than on the nationwide General Topics board.
Where can I get rabbit in LA? None of my usual butchers carry it, and it's getting on to that time of year where I crave rabbit ragù. I used to hunt for my own rabbits but down here in Socal that's not a great idea.
You can get it at Bristol Farms. It's usually frozen and it's not cheap. Also, there's a lot of work getting the meat off the bones for certain preparations. Based on my miniscule knowledge, it seems that the largest concentration of meat is the saddle. A good rabbit stew is hard to beat, but given the cost and the prep time this might be a dish worth eating out.
