Recommendation for Tarrytown/Irvington Rehearsal Dinner
I am looking for a place for my rehearsal dinner in late June. The wedding is at Tarrytown House Estate and we preferrably don't want to travel too far.
I saw a different poster's question about this already (http://www.chowhound.com/topics/428370), but I have different requirements:
Friday night, 55-60 people, preferably less than or around $100 per person.
Hastings on Hudson can't accomodate (too large a party), Il Sorriso can't accomodate (unless we have 1/3 of the party outside their back room), Red Hat won't do Fri/Sat night parties. So far we're left with ONE (at Bridge Street) for about $100 per person, but wanted to see if any of you chowhounders had another suggestion. Thanks for the help.

The Half Moon is a restaurant in Dobbs Ferry that replaces the old Chart House. They're officially opening sometime in April. I don't know anything more about it, but you can try calling at the old # (914)693-4130.
Rudy's Beau Rivage is also in Dobbs. I have never eaten there and have no idea whether it's good. I also read it'll be renovated soon. Nevertheless, thought you might appreciate the info.
This might be a bit downscale for your tastes, and I don't know whether it's big enough, but Mimosa in Dobbs seems to have reopened.

I've enjoyed the meals I've had at One, but I just read that they are switching chefs and changing the restaurant to make it "more approachable" whatever that means. Its probably the best option in the area in terms of decor and food, but I would wait for the new chef to arrive to see if it still has the same standards.
Mima, in the new Red Hat location is going to be too small, I think.

re: BF3
maybe some of these places should lower their prices, less profit on each reservation may mean higher turnover- prices on the hudson are out of control and frankly, I no longer go to the new upscale places, I enjoy the ethnic smaller places and don't get annoyed when the check comes!

The Red Hat is a new restaurant called Mima. It's the same owners as Zuppa in Yonkers but a little more casual. Stopped in to look at the place & it's great! I cannot wait to try it out.
