Follow Up-La Paella closure

  • v

I received the following e-mail in response to my inquiry about La Paella.

Los Angeles County Environmental Health received your request for information regarding La Paella, 476 S. San Vicente Blvd., Los Angeles.

Environmental Health closed this restaurant on September 6, 2001 because they were found to have a cockroach infestation during a routine inspection.

It you would like additional information regarding the closure, please contact our Hollywood-Wilshire District Office at (310) 202-3001.

(I think they have corrected the problem and reopened.)

  1. Well, they have great food and it just shows how standards go up and down. THey got a score of 100 at the March inspection. Go figure.

It certainly wouldn't stop me from eating there. I've heard more good things about the place and seen all of their good ratings. That outweighs the one closure. Can you imagine if we held these standards when we traveled abroad? We'd never eat. I think if they have corrected the problem and reopened, then it's fine.
