  1. Joe's sucks. Overcooked, watery crab legs served by annoying chatty servers. The decor is bright, silly, and obnoxious. Avoid this place at all costs. Long John Silvers will serve you up a better Seafood platter.

    1. As the above poster said, Joe's Crab Shack is horrible. I can't think of a single place I would want to eat at less (literally). I'd rather eat at Applebees 30 days straight (I hate Applebees!) than eat at Joe's again.

Massively overpriced, terrible food, horrible staff, and an abysmal decor.

I so agree. In fact I would rather eat fast food than JCS.

Add another "AMEN" to that. Where I live chain food is better, as is the fish from the hole-in-the-wall indy places in the poor neighborhoods. I don't see how this chain stays in business. Where else can you sit around waiting for the check in a restaurant with few customers, while all the servers are dancing that stupid conga line for someone's birthday? Also watch out for items they want you to think are comp, like hush puppies, that will appear on your check.

          1. re: Emm

The first time I was in a JCS my bf and I were waiting for the hostess when another couple walked in. She sat them first, we were upset until we realized they had a front row seat for the conga line. When our server came back to take our drink order she apologized that it took awhile, but she had to go sing "Happy Birthday" to someone. Then she said, I kid you not, "Have you ever been to a restaurant where they sing Happy Birthday?" Believe it or not it went downhill from there...we still laugh about to this day, and this was over 5years ago, but we've never been back.

      2. I've tried two of them in two different parts of the country (VA and FL). Expensive, flavorless, sub-bait quality seafood, ineptly prepared and served by surly waitstaff who should consider a career move to terrorist interrogation. If the purpose of a chain is to be consistent, they are in this regard: both places were terrible. So go to Joe's Crab Shack if you want to die and leave a crab-water scented corpse.

        P.S. Parking was ample.

        1. Just re-read your post, and wanted to make sure you are referring to the Joe's Crab Shack chain and not Joe's Stone Crab. Unlike the Crap Shack, I have heard only wonderful things from my parents and some friends who have been to Joe's Stone Crab in Vegas.
