Marshmallow fluff

Hi, um.... yeah, looking for that great New England concoction known as Marshmallow Fluff. Or any comparable marshmallow creme product, really. No luck at my nearest Metro or dodgy 4 Freres (surprise, surprise). No luck either at the Loblaws at Jean-Talon and Parc. Gourmands only need reply. Many thanks.

  1. I'm pretty sure they used to stock it at the Loblaws on St. Croix in VSL, near the ice creams. Don't know if they still do, but it's worth a try...

I'm also sure I've seen it at my local IGA, and the Loblaws on St. Jacques. I will be at both tomorrow (surprise surprise) and will check for you.

Thanks maisonbistro! And thanks for the tip about the ice cream section, cherylmtl. I've looked near the spreads (peanut butter, Nutella, etc.), the cake frostings, baking supplies, and near the actual marshmallows.

I've bought it at Maxi in the ice cream cone section. The no name one is simply called marshmallow cream.

Okay, so, just spotted (20 mins ago, max) at the IGA in the Cote st luc shopping center, 3 jars of Marshmallow Fluf - in the Jam section, top shelf next to the squeezable chocolate sauce, butterscotch sauce etc...

      2. The Loblaws on St. Jacques had tons of "Marshmallow Creme" in the aisle with ice cream cones and chocolate sauces when I was there today.

        1. The kosher grocery in Wilderton Shopping Centre had not just one, but several brands when I was last there (around Christmastime).

          Good luck!

            1. Thank you all! And thanks, fedelst1, for the offer of the guaranteed real deal from south of the border. As per maisonbistro's reports from IGA, I called the location closest to me and they do indeed stock Marshmallow Fluff brand. The grocery manager had me on the phone for a few minutes, waxing reflective as to how he had no choice but to carry it in the store, because his "blonde" is addicted to the stuff.

I have this fudge recipe in mind that I would like to try, and marshmallow creme plays a key role in the alleged addictive qualitites of said fudge. Fedelst1, I will keep you posted if I must have a jar of the American original. Ah, cross-border food shopping - such fun!

Okay, so I have valiantly continued the Fluff search, and here is my report.

Loblaws Lasalle has their own brand - plentiful.
Walmart Lasalle has Kraft brand also in plentiful quantities.

I shall seek out other Fluff purveyors lest anyone be Fluffless again!!!
