Near W - The Tuscany

I'm heading to NY for business, and they're putting me up at the W Tuscany (39th between Lex and Park). I guess it's close to where I'll be working. Any good spots near there? Fine dining places are great, but I'm also really interested in anywhere nearby where I could a) run in for a quick dinner, b) eat alone, c) get take-out from, d) eat late, or e) get delivery to the hotel. I'm going to be working pretty crazy hours, so I probably won't have time for a lot of 2-hour meals. I just want places where you'd eat if you were staying there and wanted to get a quick weeknight dinner.

I like all kinds of food, and I don't really care about price.

dont forget the food court in basement of grand central if you want to take a walk and still grab something quick. or sit at the oyster bar for lunch if you can. get some chowder and oysters. it can be done quickly.

The re-incarnated 2nd Avenue Deli on 33rd Street (between 3rd and Lexington). I was there last Saturday for lunch and their pastrami, the fatty one, was very good.

Considering going to 2nd Ave. Deli for lunch on Saturday. What time were you there? How busy was it? Were you able to get seated immediately, or was there a wait?

The first place that immediately comes to mind is Sarge's Deli, quite close to your hotel, on 3rd Av., b/t 36th & 37th Sts. Open 24/7 and they deliver. Thus, it fits categories a,b,c,d, and e. :-))

In case you have the opportunity for some fine dining, I highly recommend L'Impero, on Tudor City Pl., b/t 42nd & 43rd Sts. Superb contemporary Italian cuisine. Fine wine list. Excellent service, Lovely atmospherics.
