Restaurant for 35 near Sheraton

Hello there --

I am attending a business conference in April in New Orleans. I am outrageously excited for the eats. One night I have to attend a dinner with colleagues and so I am thinking of planning the dinner so we can eat someplace delicious. And so I turn to fellow Chowhounders for assistance.

Here are the requirements:

1. Delicious!
2. Walking distance from the Sheraton.
3. Able to take a reservation/seat around 35.
4. Preferably each full dinner without alcohol under $50.

This may well be a tough one but I know if the job can be done, chowhounders can do it.

How about having your group dine on the Steamer Natchez. If is a short walk or streetcar ride from the Sheraton. They take group reservations plus you would get a cruise on the Mississippi. All of this should be within your budget.

Palace Cafe is an excellent suggestion. You may also want to check into GW Fins, which is on Bienville between Bourbon and Dauphine. They are THE seafood place in the quarter, and they thrive on large parties.

I would recommend the Palace Cafe. It's right across the street. I attended a meal where the party had the whole upstairs, so I know they could accommodate a crowd. I'd call soon, though. The food I've had is delicious, especially the crabmeat cheesecake appetizer and the white chocolate bread pudding. The turtle soup is very good as well.
