Wedding Reception Locations

Hi Everyone. I'm looking for a wedding reception location in downtown or midtown toronto. I want just a plain white loft, high ceilings nice view. Too much to ask?? or does anyone know of anywhere. I also need recommendations for good food caterers. Thanks

  1. I've heard good things about Zest Catering. Ask for Joe.

      1. Take a look at this thread and linked photo -- plain white loft-like space, high ceilings. Don't know about the view -

        1. I'm not sure about the view, but the Gladstone has a white loftish area that you can rent:

I think you have to use their on-site caterer.

          1. I had my wedding and reception at The Richmond. Their website is: - sounds like what you're looking for. Can accommodate about 60-80 people for dinner, and probably about 100 people for standing hors d'oeurves/dancing. You bring in a caterer of your choice.

This was a photo of our setup. Our caterer was Sumptuous.

The photo looks lovely. Just a warning about Sumptuous though: their food is supposed to be great, but lots of people don't like dealing with them. They tend to pad expenses and costs onto your original estimate (all with your knowledge of course, but they insist it's necessary)

Yeah, we experienced a bit of that as well, but thankfully everything went smooth the day of the wedding and the food was quite good. I've noticed their website is now down, and wonder if they're even still in business.

Sumptuous is no longer in business - the two partners split up!
We had them booked for our wedding before this happened and found out about 3 month before the date - needless to say I was flipping out!
But they did everything to reassure us that they were finishing up all contracts accordingly and we would be looked after.
The catering ended up being taken over by a woman name Jayne

                    And she was OUTSTANDING!

I have heard good things about Jayne as well. She's a sommelier hold wine tastings as well. What is she like? How was it to work with her?
